When calling the customer service line to close my deceased Mother's accounts, I was told that I had to bring her death certificate to a bank branch to close her checking account. I drove 45 miles to the closest branch, with her death certificate, only to be told that I had to be the 'executor' of her estate to close her bank account with a zero balance. Called to get information about mother's bank account, and the woman started helping me, then put me on hold "for a moment..." 15 minutes later, still on hold. Is this how they treat their bank clients???

You have to pay $20. To cash a check drawn on their bank. Rip Off.
