I visited this branch for the first time today to use the ATM. While I was using the machine, a male employee was pacing back and forth directly in front of it. This made me feel unsafe rather than secure. ATM transactions should be private, and having someone so close to me while I was using the machine felt intrusive. Staff need to be more aware of personal space and ensure customers feel secure and comfortable during their transactions.
Wow! I've never seen a bank charge to cash its own check. How absurd. A customer paid me with an M&T Bank check, and then I went to the bank to cash it in, and the clerk told me they would charge 3% of the check amount to cash it. I said WHAT? I would never open an account at a bank like that.
Called before coming in for a notary. I was told to just come in because they had two available. When I came in; I was not greeted at all. Pratima Basu told us to sit down and told the other representative that we had to wait because she was busy and had not had a break. She said it in a loud and rude manner for us to hear. Terrible customer service. At no time did she even apologize for the wait. We have many accounts here including business, but we will be looking for another bank.
