My recent appointment with Virginia Baker was one of the most dismissive, condescending medical experiences I have ever had—and that includes a gynecologist who once saw a tattoo on my body and asked if she “needed to test me for AIDS as well.” Even with that appalling encounter in my past, this appointment still managed to stand out as one of the worst. I saw Dr. Baker today for the first time and she was wonderful. I wont lie tho I read the reviews before I went in, and I walked into my appt terrified, but everything was wonderful down to the front desk ladies, to the nurse that was in the exam with me. I felt like she actually listened to me. I felt so comfortable with her and Peggy. I also didnt feel judged or rushed, even tho they got me in pretty quick. Overall it was a wonderful experience. Very happy!
Wellness gyn checkup, pap smear. First impression, very professional, knowledgeable, reassuring. Felt very at ease. Answered questions and explained procedure beforehand. Staff was great too.
I felt like Dr. Baker dropped a bomb on me and rushed out of the room before I could gather my thoughts. You can’t drop the word “disease” on a patient and leave it up to them to understand it. Now I have to research my medical assessment and follow up care on my own. My last gyno at least SAT DOWN after assessment, asked how I was feeling, waited for my questions, and helped me weigh my options. She basically said it was up to me as she inched towards the door. I will never, ever go back. Never. Dr. Baker was condescending, not up on current medical research, judged my previous doctors, and spoke to me as if I were an idiot. Without even knowing a damn thing about my medical history she proceeded to try to scare me out of taking HRT. Five minutes into this appointment and after digging in me so hard I felt like I was going to puke, I said whatever I could to try and shut this person up and get out of there because I didn't have the energy to try to talk over her while she was talki... read more
