Took my Pontiac gxp 2008 to Mr Transmission about a month ago. I wanted to wait and see how my car runs before I write a review. At first I was very upset with them, I had my car somewhere else and they quoted me a price of $2500,00 to fix or rebuild my trans. I called Mr. transmission on 92nd Stony Island and they said they would beat the price. I've been to Mr. Transmission twice. I recieved the run around for a week or so. Their prices are very high. I would recommend doing a price match for the service before I take my car there again.
My transmission torque converter was going bad witch left metal shave in my valve body, also the transmission was not getting weak signal from the computer...Took it to Mr stoney island they never followed up on any info regarding my truck it sat down there A week & A half....ThenI had to do all the checking up....They did not fix the problem they just purged the debris out & charged me 369.58$ a week later same problem...When I called back he said "yeah you transmission might be going bad"...Took it to Citywide transmission... read more

This place is a total ripoff! I brought my 2007 Acura in for a second opinion. They said they could repair the transmission rather than replace it. So $3200 dollars later after an $1800 estimate the car never drove off the lot. I had to take it somewhere else to get it running and they have not refunded one dime! Stay away from these ripoff artists!!! All they said was sorry about your luck!!!
Cost and reliability are very important to my wife and I as we are both retired and living on fixed incomes. We have used this repair shop exclusively for the past four years since moving here from Georgia. During this time her minivan has had transmission and break repair work done; while my truck has had belt / hose replacements and break repairs, not to mention the numerous oil and lube changes for both vehicles. They fixed my car for emissions. I was at my Chevy dealer and was told it was going to be like 1500 to fix my car, and I left. I came here they were half the money, and when I got my car back they already had it emissions tested. I would not say the were the fastest, I brought my car in on wednesday morning, and they gave me it back on thursday afternoon. they said they had to order parts
they fixed my jaguar XJ8's transmission. it was really cheap compared to what some people quoted me.
This company truly is outstanding in each and every aspect. Having to have transmission work is an unfortunate event, but these people made the entire experience so much better. Professional, honest, and timely, we were back on the road just as they promised. Now I know that truly does pay to choose a nationally known company like Mr. Transmission.
