Mr. Santos Fashion Design was located at 2150 Westheimer and Kingston next to St. Anne's Church. We have moved to 2237 Welch St. just off of Persa. Mr. Santos is professional and has reasonable rates – I had a positive experience with Mr. Santos. Not only was he courteous and professional, he actually finished my alterations ahead of schedule. I told him I needed my clothes for a trip starting next week, and he finished the job for me in four days. I also thought his price was reasonable. He did alterations on two dresses and 2 pairs of pants, which involved hemming and taking in. The price was under $200, which I believe is an average price for qualilty work. I would d... read more

Get a Quote before you leave! – I have Never felt more taken advantage of in my LIFE! I don't make much money and being new to the area and not knowing anyone I took a bridesmaid dress in to be hemmed and taken in on the side a little. I will admit that it’s my fault I did not ask how much b/c I have had other dresses done elsewhere and know around the price. When I went to pick up the dress he charges me $200.00.. Not Worth the Price you Pay – First off, I will say that I hate being taken advantage of. I will also admit that I do not know what all goes into alterations for a wedding dress, so I may be underestimating the amount of work that goes into altering a dress. Mr. Santos was recommended to me by the place I bought my dress from. I took it there and he took all the usual measurements. BEWARE – I recently took a pair of shorts to him for a simple hem and he LOST THEM. Before he lost my shorts I took my wedding dress to him. He wouldn't tell me how much it would be. Then he charged $480. I was shocked. When I asked to discuss this with him he flipped out and screamed at me if $200 was too much to pay. He then threw my receipt at me when I left. Satisfied Customer – Unlike CPSHOUSTON my experience with Mr. Santos was excellent. Mr. Santos Designs created a beutiful quinceanera dress for my daughter in May of 2008. He did his best to please my daughter's likes, he went the extra mile to come up with the exact color my daughter wanted. He tried matching so many colors and types of fabrics to come up with the color needed, at the end it took a combination of 5 fabrics, all different types and colors. Avoid at all costs – A friend took her mother in law's antiqued wedding dress to Mr. Santos Fashion Designs to have a new dress made from the lace. He has procrastinated to the point the girl almost doesn't have a dress acceptable for her wedding, and certainly not one that she initially imagined. He over promised and under delivered and charged a ransom in the meantime. Warn your friends. I wouldn't have this man hem a pair of pants, much less make or alter a wedding dress.
