We had one of those horror interstate moves. The company we got to move our stuff refused to attempt the access point for our property on the morning of the move after much deliberation in the lead up to the big day. No refunds, no take backs. After much crying and begging they agreed to pick our stuff up from another mover if we could organise it all for the next morning 6am sharp! Booked movers for a 1 bedroom apartment for arrival time of 11-1, the day before I get a call asking for arrival time to be pushed back to 1-3 which I was fine with. 3.15 comes around and no one has arrived or any communication on how long they would be, I called up to be told the movers will arrive at 4pm. Although their customer service person was incredibly responsive and helpful, we found the actual day of the move to be disappointing. We were on a tight schedule and booked for the 8 - 10am start time and did this well in advance. The day before, we got a call to say the time slot would need to change to 10 - 12. The driver didn't end up showing up until after 12 and luckily we had lots of housemates handy so that the job could be done timely, otherwise I imagine it would have been a very slow process. I had to book last minute due to another company leaving me in the lurch. The booking process went smoothly, but the day was SUPER stressful. They were 2.5 hours late, wouldn’t answer their phones when I tried to call and enquire about ETA, and had me on the back foot due to such poor previous reviews. I was just happy to have it over with, but I will say that Aniket and the man who helped him were polite, efficient and friendly. 5 hours late apparently due to one of their trucks breaking. Set me back for my whole move. Took them FIVE AND A HALF HOURS to move one person's stuff from a 2br unit to a small 2br apartment. Movers disappeared for half an hour and went I went to look for them they were trying to tell me they couldn't get my three seater couch up the flight of stairs into my new apartment - as if no one on floors 1-3 here have a three seater couch!?
