Love this store! Very grateful to have it here in Boone! The staff is so incredibly helpful!!! Particularly the Saturday guys! Have come in multiple times (one time for shoes, once for belt & handheld, and a handful of times for gels)… always beyond patient and helpful! Helped me find my favorite running shoes, and always go to great lengths to make sure you leave with what is best for you! Will be a faithful customer for years to come!
Had a mishap with my in store transfer, they took ownership and made it right! Amazing customer experience, and always a great shopping experience. Highly recommend spending your money here, they take care of their customers.
I am a nurse not a runner. Last year (2025) I bought my first pair of Brooks Glycerin shoes from Mountain Running Company after years of wearing basic Asics and New Balance. I was going to give Hokas a try, but I left with Brooks, a better shoe for me. I am so glad I did not try to order shoes from a random online company. At Mountain Running Company I was able to try several different brands of shoe on, and in different sizes, to find the perfect fit with help from knowledgeable staff. I had such a wonderful experience with Lauren! I ordered a pair of Asics online, but she found it had a cosmetic defect, so she let me know and swapped it out for no extra charge to a newer version of the same shoes! I would definitely order my next pair of running shoes from them in the future because of the awesome customer service
My boyfriend and I went here to get our first pair of running shoes. We went in not really knowing what to look for and the person working up front was super helpful! He gave us some great recommendations and helped us find the right size! I would highly recommend this store to anyone in the area looking for a new pair of running/hiking shoes. We will definitely be back!
