I went into the store for the first time this past Friday, November 17. I bought two boxes of loose herbal tea and 2 packages of empty tea bags to make my own tea bags. The woman who rang me up (long dark curly hair) asked if I had used the bags before. I told her I hadn't and she hadn't either. I made my bags up today and made a cup of tea. They work great! I have a little tiny iron to iron the bags shut. I set up my little production on a TV tray to fill the bags and then iron them shut.

Ordering online from Mountain Rose is easy, but being able to browse in the Mercantile is a delight. The store is huge with inventory nicely displayed. Customer service was outstanding. I was offered assistance but not bothered after I declined. My questions were answered completely and some nice suggestions for using what I bought were offered.

I came in to the Merc today and had the best experience! I came looking for elder berry syrup. Unfortunately they didn't have any, but what I get was dried elder berries to be able to make my own syrup. Super cool! I am totally pleased with this local store! I will gladly be back with desires to get more essential oils and herbal remedies!

This refers not to the Mercantile itself (which is architecturally gorgeous and has lovely workers), but the larger company. Truly excellent products, especially when it comes to teas, tinctures, and essential oils. Tragically, the customer service for online customers is very bad and not worth the hassle even for the sake of the products. If you're lucky enough to live in the Eugene area, make sure that your purchases are from the store and not online so that you can ensure excellency with both products AND customer assista... read more

I'll drive two hours from Washington to spent 20 minutes shopping and it's always worth my time. I always leave with treasures.
