A fully independent garage open to the public. We work on all makes of cars, light commercial and PSV vehicles. We formerly operated as Chestnut Road Garage owned by Chris Dobson. As a bus company Mountain Goat have operated in Windermere since 1972, and we have run our garage operation, open to all, since 2016. MOT Lane (Class 4 & 7) on site.

My partner has taken her car to this garage who has diagnosed it wrong both times and have charged her £120+ for looking at it and have said the total opposite problem to what it’s been… be aware of these overpriced scammers who have cowboys working for them!!!
I went on the Ten Lake Tour. Our driver was Patrick. Very chatty and knowledgeable. We had plenty of stops for toilet breaks and photo opportunities. We weren’t rushed. Beautiful scenery. Unforeseen road block, but Patrick was unfazed and soon got us back on track. Very well organised tour, would go on another one. Elliott in the office, is very organised, knowledgeable about the Lake District and has a good sense of humour. Excellent all round

TLDR: Extortionate pricing - Avoid. Came in to have one tyre reseated on the rim due to an air leak. Explained this to the mechanic who for some reason proceeded to scan for faults which came up clear. Explained again that it was just a small leak and the tyre just needed reseating on the rim. Mechanic carried it out which resolved the problem, and proceeded to charge over £40. Extortionate price to take off and refit one tyre.
