Would never Recomment – My son jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge in January, and as he had no ID on him, the coroner had his remains sent to Mt Tamalpais Mortuary under their contract with the Mortuary. Our initial meeting with Jack went very well, and it was agreed my son would be cremated and they would handle his being scattered at sea. Rude, Rude, Rude – Horrible Customer Service. Rude, disrespectful. We had the same experience with the grave diggers waiting around during the funeral to get on with their work. The in-house staff is extremely rude when you need help after the fact. Before the fact, they are really nice trying to sell you on their services. We wish we had chosen somewhere else.
A disrespectful and insensitive place for a funeral – The place where the family meet the remains of the departed and pay their last respects is a shabby loading dock, surrounded by spare coffins and the noise of machinery. Staff members are hanging around like casual laborers. It is shockingly disrespectful and an appalling environment for the grieving family and the management at Mount Tamalpais should be ashamed. A one star rating is too high.
