This December 2025, I spent a week up at the lodge with my college roommate, his dog Nalu, and a friend from Boulder, Colorado. A bit of work coming from sea level and then skiing up to the lodge, but it was worth it! The lodge has recently been rebooted and is now MHBL 2.0. Previously a bit of a party location, it has been transformed into a lodge where one can feel restored. I’ve stayed at Eric’s almost every year or twice a year for 6 years. Eric is a gem, and the space is incredible. Like most of us, people can go through hard times. Eric has gone through that too, but he has pushed hard and long to power through. Grateful to have spent some of the most incredible days of skiing here in my life, and most incredible days in general. Go to Hayden mountain lodge and you’ll see what I mean

We just got back from a 3 night stay at the lodge and it was such a blast! I have come up for years and the MHBL has so many beautiful memories. It was such a blast to add another one with great people. The owner has spent years cooking at a professional level so the food is DELISH! If you are new to the touring world, ownership and the staff are always keen to advise on places to explore. The huts common rooms are kept clean and very welcoming. Had an amazing time at the lodge for a friends birthday. We stayed 3 nights and had amazing food the entire time and felt well taken care of! Such a beautiful zone with awesome skiing

I've stayed two different times at this special backcountry hut. The first time I went, I stayed for two nights with a group of friends. We had such a wonderful time that I wanted to bring my partner back for our anniversary for what was my second visit, the next year. We brought our dog (a plus!) who was super welcomed by the host, enjoyed delicious elk bolognese for dinner, and soaked our tired bones in the cute wood fired hot tub. We will go back again and again!
