Stayed at the Hayden Hut this fall and was deeply disappointed. As mentioned by others, the location is incredible. Amazing cabin high in the mountains. Unfortunately the hut keeper was unprofessional, bordering on unsafe to be around. Eric got very drunk (couldn’t start a fire, slurring words, peeing on porch in front of group on himself) the first night. He made repeated creepy remarks to the women in our group, and made people feel uncomfortable enough to leave a day early. He continued to insert himself into our group, a... read more

I stayed at Hayden Mountain Lodge with some friends for a birthday weekend, and honestly the experience was pretty disappointing. The location is absolutely incredible, the lodge itself is beautiful, and the food was solid. Unfortunately, the hut keeper, Eric, made things pretty uncomfortable for our whole group. He was drunk often, left dishes out, fell asleep before making dinner, and kept making inappropriate jokes. My friends and I booked the entire Hayden Lodge for a three-day weekend, and while the location is incredible, my experience was deeply uncomfortable — especially as a woman. I’m sharing this so other women considering this hut can make an informed decision. During our stay, the hut keeper, Eric, behaved in ways that felt unprofessional, inappropriate, and at times unsafe to me. Eric began drinking every day at breakfast and was incoherent by midday.
