Mount Defiance was a highlight of our visit to the Ticonderoga area. The climb to the top was short but steep — and 100% worth it. Once you reach the summit, the views are breathtaking. You get an incredible panoramic look at Lake Champlain, the surrounding mountains, and Fort Ticonderoga below. There’s a small pavilion at the top, perfect for resting and taking in the scenery. Whether you hike or drive up, the payoff is amazing. A must-do if you’re in the area and want both beauty and a touch of history!
Not sure I great road to the top but worth the view.
Great historical place with a lot of great people dressed in period clothing who knows the history well. If you're interested in the French & Indian or Revolutionary Wars then this needs to be on your list. Programs that give a glimpse into the daily lives, musket & canon demonstrations are made interesting. Place to eat on site. We also went to the top of Mount Defiance and will be doing the boat ride to end our day!
