Most of the nursing staff was incredible. The wound care nurse was great as well as the CNN and the Med Tech. However, I was unable to get anywhere without help and there were never enough people to help disabled patients. I cannot use my arms or shoulders and also am having trouble with my legs. Also. I don't think I got enough physical therapy for my.walking problems. I AM getting physical therapy at home. It might not seem like a lot, but ONE BIG PROBLEM is the room was too small for 2 patients and 2 big wheel chairs. Als... read more
Having mom in Mount Carmel has been a blessing to our family. When we can't be with her, we can rest assured that she is receiving excellent care. There is a warm feeling to the very clean building. There is nothing fancy about the place. It is about good food, wonderful activities, attentiveness to the resident's needs, and the staff caring for the residents like family. If one wants something addressed, it is given priority and is acted upon. I tell everyone who asks about mom how wonderful Mount Carmel has been.
Our NIGHTMARE started December 2024. The first morning, our mom called me crying at 11:20am and said nobody got her out of bed, no meds, no breakfast. I called and talked to the front desk who got me in touch with the social worker. When we inquired about the reason she was still in bed at 11:20am, we were told, “We didn’t know her preference.”!We heard this statement many times during her stay. I can't say enough about how wonderful Mt. Carmel rehabilitation is. My mom is on her 4th stay for rehab at Mt. Carmel. Every staff member we have encountered is so kind and caring. The staff makes a point of reaching out to the residents, and they all are smiling! I will say the 1st floor is the best for rehab; there is more activity and way more sunshine than the ground floor. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the facility, the customer service, the quality of the food and most importantly the care given by all of the staff. EVERYONE was wonderful!! We could not have asked for better care for our Mom. I can not thank them enough for everything they did for her and our family
