The Madison County Literacy Coalition is a local nonprofit organization that was formed in 1985 to address the problem of adult illiteracy in this community. At The Literacy Center in downtown Anderson, free tutoring in reading, writing, comprehension, and spelling is offered to adult learners. All tutors are volunteers.
