The Madison County Literacy Coalition is a local nonprofit organization that was formed in 1985 to address the problem of adult illiteracy in this community. At The Literacy Center in downtown Anderson, free tutoring in reading, writing, comprehension, and spelling is offered to adult learners. All tutors are volunteers. It is estimated that one out of five adults in America are "functionally illiterate" which means that they do not read well enough to function independently in everyday personal, social, and work situations.... read more

They're Trying! The new owners picked up where Simon left off. They added a food court, movie theater, and got rid of *most* of the dirty garage-sale like businesses that were in the mall. Now, they have a few corporate stores like Bath and Body Works, Claires, Walden Books, Hallmark etc. I don't like the dollar store, or the spray on t-shirt graphics places, I think they make the mall look cheap. A few more businesses need to come in, and the place wouldn't be half bad really! Oh and Sears REALLY needs to be updated, it's f... read more
