I received an estimate for a $2500 transmission rebuild. However, the first thing the mechanic did was check the red light on the dash in my pick up. He found that I needed a new torque converter lock up solenoid along with a filter kit, and an oil pan gasket. My out the door expense turned into $578 as my truck did not require a rebuild. My knowledge of a transmission could be stored in a thimble. What I want to convey here is the simple fact of the honesty employed by that mechanic and the owner of Motor City Garage.
