We were driving through town on a road trip when our car started making a weird sound. Called a bunch of mechanics in town - the mechanic at Motech picked up and even though he wasn't working he talked me through the issue and recommended another mechanic in the area. His recommendation was awesome and everything worked out! He went above and beyond to help out some stranded gals in Santa Cruz when the other mechanics we talked to just said it wasn't possible to get our car looked at on the same day. I came here to get a smog check, when I showed up they said they needed to check the car's onboard computer. They said there was something wrong with it, and they would need to charge me $120 JUST TO FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. I went to a different, more reputable, shop and they said there was nothing wrong with it. TLDR: only come here if you want to get scammed and overcharged.

Steve gave great service and was helpful at explaining the issues and options at each step of the way
Steve is the sharpest mechanic I know. I should know, i am one too, and I always call on him or technical advice when I am stumped. For smog issues, check engine lights, electrical and anything tehnical, you can't beat Motech.
