I went late afternoon during the week. The waiting room was full with a line at the front desk. Despite the fact they were busy, they made sure to greet me and let me know they'd be with me shortly. I was in a great deal of pain after a leg injury. They were very compassionate to my situation. My wait was short considering how busy they were. The nurse who saw me first was very sweet as well. Update 09/29/2021 Called today to speak to a patient, a minor. For one I’ve been calling for a week and clearly the night staff hates their job and should not be working there. Cindy and Eric were snappy and did not take well to being told they were rude. Eric answers the initial call, and I informed him that there might be something wrong with their call system and to notify an IT technician. As a veteran I now receive VA care however, before VA care I had to go to this hospital two times. On two visits they misdiagnosed a STEMI which is a Myocardial Infarction and on another was clueless as to the difference between a heart attack and a panic attack. ER staff is simply ill-equipped to know how to handle patient emergencies. The physicians groups that St. Joe's contracts with offer inferior physicians. Being plagued with repetitive UTI's I've primarily depended on BayCare Urgent Care (So Tampa) to prescribe appropriate medications several years. Care is very good, including follow up patient phone call. Recently Medical Assistant Neisha's care was excellent, going the extra mile. Front Desk Katlyn is very helpful, providing useful tips, quickly forwarding pertinent details to my Urologist. Appreciate your assistance. Linda Garston

Be aware! If you don't have covid symptoms - stay away from this place as it's filled with both covid sick and not sick people in one small cramped space (one door/in-out). There is a high risk to get covid just by visiting this place. I rarely write bad reviews unless I believe I can help others to avoid bad experience. I felt obligated to tell people so they are aware. I took my husband who was sick with covid for over a week. I had an appointment today for my son at the imaging center took time off from work. I made the appointment over 2 weeks ago no one got authorization/approval for the procedure from my insurance which is THEIR job. Then they wanted me to pay them $2,000 for a procedure that cost less than $1,000 and is fully covered by my insurance. No one cares about my son's health nor that I need to keep the job that provides the health coverage for these services. This is laziness and greed at it's finest.
