My family and I ate here last night to celebrate my brother’s birthday. Our server, who is also one of the owners, named Nhat was very hostile. When we asked a simple question about the Caesar salad, he snapped and responded in a brutal and condescending way. His behavior was very unsettling and is the reason we will not be returning or recommending this restaurant. We did enjoy the food that we ordered, but our experience with Nhat threw off our dining experience.
Wonderful experience. This is our second time dining at Mortar and Pestle, and we will be back soon!
Great first visit. Friendly staff. 4.5/5.0. Cocktails are expensive. Steak sliders are tasty. Will plan to return to try more dishes.
Beautiful place and phenomenal fusion food! So delicious and prepared with care! We had shrimp toast, the special melon salad, crying tiger beef, laksa curry, and the sticky toffee pudding dessert. We're so pleasantly surprised and delighted with the flavors, the textures and the creativity of every dish we ordered. Our server Dimitri is friendly and attentive, made excellent recommendations. Very warm and friendly place. The Crying Tiger dish was probably one of the best dishes I have had in St Louis.
