My wife and I stayed here for the weekend for our anniversary after seeing great reviews online. Sam who worked the front desk was great and upgraded our room due to it being our anniversary. We were originally supposed to stay on the ground floor but he upgraded us to a room on the 5th floor. The hotel has an old historic look to it. I really wanted to like this place — the location was perfect for my weekend — but the service left a lot to be desired. First, the “valet” parking, if you can call it that. It was hard to find, marked with a tiny sign, with no attendant and no instructions. I circled the block three times before realizing that this was supposedly the valet. Great speakeasy experience
Anytime I am in the area I choose the Morrison. I used to stay with a friend a block away but I love the hotel so much, it feels like a second home. Very fine service, such as Sam D, who helped me choose the room with my favorite view and was able to arrange late check out on a Monday since my train departed later in the afternoon at 5. He remembers my name when I return twice a year and makes me feel so at home. It is the best old town location and yet is very quiet. I love the new library and hope to return for the weekend... read more
