PIK has engaged in the random discharge of active participants while they were getting assistance because management has deemed them "unfit for service due to co-occuring mental health". PIK was more worried about their outreach and renewing their grant than actually assisting people who are navigating recovery. Despite being a peer recovery center, most employees and management are not themselves in recovery and have spoken openly about their weekend drinking while I was present. Pietro Lombardo was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and open to answering questions. The training I attended was presented in an accessible way and was interesting. I'd recommend this organization.
