My father is loving all the social aspects that are featured and how friendly everyone has been, residents and staff. There are a few glitches though. His showers and laundry schedule are still a work in progress. Despite having the days listed as to when, the staff hasn’t been able to get to him unless I raise the issue. His medication is mostly resolved though I did learn if he’s not in his room at the time he’s scheduled for medication he doesn’t get it. I toured MorningStar while my siblings and I were searching for the best local assisted living facility for our mother. This is a beautiful modern facility with so many amenities. Everyone I interacted with was welcoming, warm, and kind. Moving a loved one into Assisted Living or Memory Care is never an easy decision, but our family has been incredibly grateful for the care and support my mother has received at this community. Moved my mother here several years ago and she recently moved on. Unfortunately while she was there we watched Morningstar degenerate into just another company run by private equity, where they care not for their customers (residents) but for how much they can cut and how much they can profit. The poor care given here is really the most concerning. They have very high turnover among the caregivers and are unable to retain good people because corporate is always cutting corners. Today, I watched one of your vehicles (with one of your residents in the front passenger seat) enter into the intersection of Harmony/timberline when the light was red. Luckily a situation was avoided. I called the office to bring attention to the safety of their residents and Katherine sent me to voicemail…never asked why I had called. My mother is in senior living and I couldn’t imagine.
