I am giving Morimoto's 5 stars because they were able to figure out what was wrong with my Lincoln LS after my spending lots of $$$ and taking it to various mechanics and the Ford dealer in Santa Cruz. This was not a transmission issue but they were able to figure it out (throttle position sensor) and at a reasonable price. My car's transmission has also been serviced here. I am definitely going to be a repeat customer and I highly recommend them!
Solid Shop, Good People. Transmission went out on my 2009 Subaru Forrester at 90k miles. Got pricing all over from 1500 - $5000 depending on the option, rebuild/ replace etc. Most shops wont work with used transmissions... which is a shame because you can get em for really good prices... I would rather have an original Subaru transmission, than have someone go into the tranny to rebuild it... Scott was down, super flexible, and would work with any option we chose... I recently had the transmission on my Chevy van rebuilt out of state, and it broke down a few weeks later when I was in Santa Cruz. As it was under warranty, I was sent to Morimoto's to get the repair done. I am extremely happy with the work that was done. I just drove over 1500 miles heavily loaded, and the transmission felt very strong, even up the dreaded "Grapevine" near L.A. Having a nearly new, yet out of warranty F 150 with only 126k miles on it... I was in shock to discover it needed a new transmission. Quoted an horrific cost by the dealer, my locksmith suggested Morimoto Transmission Service. Wow. Great communication, support, and an exceptional standard of excellence that equals my own.
