My condo association hired them to evaluate and repair a water stain near a skylight. Even though there was no drywall damage, they lumped joint compound on what was before a flat, undamaged piece of sheet rock. They refused to cut out the raised area of damage then did, instead they proposed to fix by adding more joint compound. I personal had to cut out the damage they did to the drywall, screw in a replacement piece, and compound the seam to repair the ceiling to a flat state.
