We had a shockingly great time visiting Moon Valley Nurseries. The nurseries we've been too, seem to only hire staff for the sake of just having staff. Couldn't answer our questions about certain trees nor plants. Just useless. At this nursery, we were helped by Robert De Wit. We were window shopping for an HOA ** approved tree for our front yard. Updated Sep 12, 2025 (final) Read the contract. Get a rider in writing. Purchased a substantial Mediterranean fan palm (San Antonio). During delivery (Jul 9) my front step was chipped. After slow responses, action picked up only after I escalated through AmEx; a repair was attempted mid-August. The patch removed the trip edge but left a visible gray spot on a beige slab (photo attached)—mediocre at best. I just had a Joan Lionetti oak tree planted by Sean Washburn and his crew. I really appreciate the hard work they have to do planting trees in Texas soil. They did a super job! Sean went over everything concerning the care and maintenance of my new tree so it’ll grow and thrive. He also helped me with the details on having the pin oak tree in my front yard pruned correctly for better growth and fullness to include a deep fertilizer injection. Hopefully this will be scheduled soon. Many thanks to Sean and crew!
