Our family paid Moodys over NZD$20k each, to “Do it once, do it right”. Alex insisted on re-doing the past 5 years taxes, so there would be no mistakes with the IRS. A huge expense, but they put the fear into you that if it’s not done correctly, there’ll be problems. We renounced 5 years ago and IRS are claiming some of the years taxes were late, charging us each now thousands of USD in penalties. Moodys say it’s an IRS mistake, and will only fix their problem if we pay Moodys more. Said we should pay the IRS while they look... read more
