It was nice. Found a lot of fossils without even digging. Many people must miss them or not know what they're looking for because while waiting for my family, I was sitting and glancing through the loose stuff by my feet and finding fossils one right after another. The restroom is down the road, but there is a nice picnic area by the restroom.
We weren't there for more than half an hr and found a seashell fossil. Had fun. Cute spot for sure with a little pamphlet to take home too
Good spot, found a bunch of fossils. Was there for 4 hours and found alot. People that didn't find any, not sure how you missed them? Have to brake shale with a hammer they are inside..
A very fun and rewarding experience for complete beginners! We used an old yoga mat and a thick foam mat as seat cushions, brought some hammers and work gloves from home, and bought a Hart cutting chisel from Walmart for $10. Spent about an hour in the pit just casually looking through piles of rocks and splitting the ones that felt promising lol. Ended up finding about 10+ fossils that are smaller than a fingernail.
