I recently saw a photo of myself from a year ago at my birthday dinner 3 days before I had Bariatric surgery. Dr. Chang was my surgeon. Wow! I can't believe what a difference a year can make. I didn't realize how much progress I had made until I saw that picture. I have a ways to go before I reach my ultimate goal but it feels so good to look at that picture and then look in the mirror and see a different person staring back. The review is for the receptionists in this office, not the doctors. I’m yet to encounter more unwelcoming and dismissive receptionists. It’s astounding how they lack any customer service skills down to a simple smile and eye contact. I don’t understand how they’ve gotten their jobs, and why no one has trained them to act any differently. Very unfortunate for the high-level doctors that work in the office. Coming in and interacting with the receptionists is the worst part of the visit.
I'd give Dr Vierra 10 stars if I could. He has been nothing short of amazing. He no doubt is a great surgeon but what my wife and I are most grateful for is his bedside manner and his caring. He looked at her case and had his team call and get us in early which probably saved us from the worst weekend of our lives and then with a completely booked schedule got her in the very next business day because of the urgent nature of things. Dr. Mark Vierra is outstanding! He truly cares about his patients and their wellbeing. He provides excellent care. I am blessed to have had him as my surgeon and highly recommend him to anyone needing bowel resection surgery.
I felt totally dismissed and unheard and they just kept trying to push pain meds on me for an obvious infection and said it is getting better even though I was literally in tears as he pushed DIRECTLY onto the area I said hurt and I even told him the pain had increased since my last visit. but he obviously did not care and kept arguing with me about it. He didn't even bring up one of the issues the radiologist put on their report until *I* brought it up and then told me basically not to worry about it or get my own referral ... read more
