DO NOT COME HERE . My mom and I arrived early in the morning for a medical emergency, and it felt like we had walked into a ghost town. No receptionist, a security guard deep sleeping. Never in my life I seen an EMERGENCY ROOM have no receptionist in the waiting area If someone was dying no one would have even noticed. The staff is in a hurry to get a couple of facts from you, instead of letting you tell them why you're there. I know they're short-staffed, especially at night, but this is ridiculous. Then there was the orderly who *impaled* me for blood, like I was a receptacle rather than a person. Totally unprofessional.

I take my mom here and everyone is friendly. This hospital gets a bad rap from their past. Mt. Vernon needs this hospital so the people in Mt.Vernon should be doing what they can to keep it in Mt.Vernon. The doctors are knowledgeable about her condition and what they can’t handle they send her to their colleagues at the Bronx location.
