Yesterday I went to visit my parents . One of the times I am there is between Rosh Hashanna and Yom Kippur . It is very emotional for me and this time was no different. As I approach the graves I noticed that they had cut the grass and there were pieces of grass all over my parents stone. On September 6, 2026 my wife and I went to Montefiore Cemetery to do our due diligence to my parents and grandparents’ plots. What we found that day, was that the area where my parents and grandparents were buried was overgrown with grass that we had to pull the grass up by hand. We then ran into GM Steven Pitchick as we were leaving and informed him of our issues and concerns. Steve followed up with us and made sure the area was mowed and trimmed. doesn’t even deserve one star but there was no lower category to pick. the cemetery is horribly kept..IF the grass is mown there are clumps of dead grass everywhere. usually on the side with the older graves it is more often than not NOT MOWED at all. the grass was at least 7” tall. they have all kinds of excuses short term. but i have been there at all seasons , year after year and the results are always the same. they claim that it takes too much time to mow and can’t do the whole property at once. the solution is getting ... read more
I lost my husband at the cemetery! I went to my friend Helene Silverman Feldman 's funeral. My husband Robert Woolfie Grenetz had to go to the restroom and said he would meet me by the car. When I got to the car, he wasn't there and his phone was off. I panicked! The funeral director helped me look for him. It turns out that he went the wrong way and went to a cemetery about 2 miles away. When he realized that he was in the wrong place he turned on his phone and called me.
