The decision to enroll our child in residential care at Monte Nido was pretty tough, though after a two week stint in the hospital, we knew we were in need of serious, proffessional care. Dropping our daughter off 400 miles away from home, leaving her in the 24/7 care of essentialy strangers was the toughest thing I have ever done. The long ride home was full of tears and fear. Yesterday, I discharged from Clementine Hudson Valley, and to say this place changed me in the best way possible is an understatement. This place literally gave me my life back. With the support of my clinical team and staff I was able to finally break away from my ED and find joy again. Overall, there are better options out there, so I would not recommend. Here’s why: If you’ve been to any other treatment place, you have probably heard about Monte nido’s reputation… Yes it wasn’t all bad, but it definitely wasn’t good. There were many flaws that may be small, but definitely set back recovery. Another concern was that if you were still hungry, wanted to add something like sauce, or needed an extra snack during the day, you weren’t allowed. I can’t recommend Clementine Hudson Valley enough. If you’re reading reviews because you’re terrified about going to residential, I completely understand. I did the exact same thing before I admitted. I remember searching for reviews hoping someone would tell me it wasn’t as scary as I imagined. My daughter recently returned home after a 10-week treatment program at CHV, and the transformation we have seen in her is incredible. Before her stay, meal times were an intense struggle—her table and plate were always a mess, and we had to constantly push her toward recovery. Now, she is finishing her meals, keeping her space tidy, trying foods she previously refused to touch, and is generally in such a bright, positive mood.
