Alex and his team handled both our new roof and the exterior painting on our Montclair colonial. Having one crew manage multiple projects made everything so much simpler. The coordination was seamless and the end result looks fantastic.
We got quotes from four different contractors for our new roof installation. Montclair Roofing wasn't the cheapest, but they were the only ones who took the time to explain why certain materials made sense for our particular house. The warranty that covers interior damage sold us, hadn't seen that offered anywhere else. Eight months in and we've had zero issues, even after some brutal storms.
Otherwise known as Alex Contracting (which doesn't seem to be registered - he changed the name because of bad reviews before). Terrible company, don't use them. I warned them I would post a bad review and report them if they didn't honor my roof warranty, but they fobbed me off and ignored me, so here goes. I had my roof replaced with them 5 years ago. Please do not hire Alex contracting/Montclair Roofing. They are THE worst roofer in New Jersey in ALL aspects. I hired Alex and his team back in October 2023 initially for a leak in my roof. He came and gave a consultation, looked at my roof and diagnosed it as bad flashing around the base of the chimney that was causing the problem. He charged us 900 dollars to fix the flashing and fix the leak. He also gave us a 10 year warranty. After the initial "repair" of the flashing, the leak from my roof GOT WORSE. I would recommend staying away from this company!! Montclair Roofing did what I thought was good job on a new roof in 2021. It was a hard job on an old house. However, in the process they set a portion of the roof on fire. Since then, it has become clear that the roof was never repaired correctly in the area of the burn, or has reopened. It has been leaking into a portion of my living room ceiling and wall and the damage has become progressively worse.
