We appreciated the kind and gentle care when my father was in the Mercy ER. Dr Montano even spoke to my brother on the phone (also an ER doc) to chat through the diagnosis and process. We are grateful for Dr Montano’s excellent care.
I would advise against treatment by Dr. Julian Montano for several reasons. My chief complaint is that he lied to me. He seems to have an ego that he puts before patient care. His bedside manner was seemingly absent and I would not recommend him to treat any condition large or small. Noticing no good reviews of him online seems to back me up on this. I will not recommend this doctor. Please avoid seeing doctor Montano if possible!!! He simply looked at my mother and said “you should look up hyperventilation, you probably have that”. Her respirations were within normal range. Nothing she was experiencing aligned with hyperventilation. He treated us like garba... read more
I arrived at St. Louis Mercy Hosp. with a persistent 102-103 temp and having urinated practically nothing the previous two days. Dr. Montano consulted with me. I described my symptoms hoping it would suggest a treatable condition. But, having sized me up, Dr. Montano asked me whether I wanted to go home . I wasn't sure how to answer, since I was sick enough to show up in the emergency room. He told me I seemed confused. Basically, he did not want to admit me. I told him to contact my personal physician who knew me as a very ... read more
