I sold a house in late 2025 and Montana Title and Escrow held some of the proceeds to pay the property tax proration once the final property tax bill was issued a month after closing. Montana Title and Escrow then used my funds to pay more than my share of the property taxes. They didn't notify me about the problem. Beware. These people have to be called monthly. Guy always says the payment is on his desk. He's trying to force me into giving them my banking info. I don't want auto pay. I chose to send a check. Therefore that means I send my payment by the 10th for a due date of the 15th. They're holding the payment until he decides it's time to deposit it. That hurts me on my interest and in turn hurts my seller. I don't get principal and they end up paying more taxes, as it looks like I'm late every month. What a scam he's running ther... read more

I was extremely disappointed with Montana Title and Escrow. In addition to a ridiculously high fee for their services, they lack communication, professionalism and had numerous items that needed be corrected. I have worked with several title companies through the years and this was by far the worst experience.

Incompetent, technologically inept, disorganised, unaware of legislative requirements outside MT. This lack of professionalism increased my legal fees and tax exposure significantly.
