So I went in to detox 16 days ago… amber dayhuff was absolutely horrible as a dr practitioner, she checked on me twice but after 4 days she pretty much just didn’t care at all about me or what I was going through… thank god that Friday there was a older male DR there who saw what I was going through and immediately made med changes for me so I wasn’t suffering… then within 1 week she amber immediately wanted to move me to the woman’s wing and I was NOT ready yet.. So many improvements could be made . First, you sit in the same room for 13 hours a day. I nearly had bed sores on my rear end. Even if you are there voluntarily, you are treated as a child and always watched, making this place very prison-like. Very limited fresh air and outdoor time. 80% of staff are not recovering alcoholic/ addicts and have no empathy nor do they try to relate to the clients. All but two of the TT’s were amazing, and seemed very invested in patient recoveries, My counselor was both empathetic and challenging. And created a safe space for me to be honest with myself and her. I have been to this treatment center three times now. Every time I have gotten a lot out of it, but this last time changed my life. Sometimes I think people confuse treatment with a vacation and a spa. But if you are willing to try and do the work necessary, they Will go so far for you. But of course, they are not gonna work h... read more
