Went in for the synthetic oil change, brake check, and tire rotation. Advertised at $78. But my Highlander takes 5.8 quarts. So $17 more for the 0.8 quart. With tax it came to $135 or so. The $78 is after a rebate that can take up to 6 weeks to process. OK. So what did I get? I got a synthetic oil change. At least I think I did. How do I know for sure? I asked about the brakes. Had my car towed to the shop on 28th Street in Grand Rapids to have a flat tire fixed. They said they were able to fix it and that it had debris in the tire. I drove it 40 miles home and got up the next morning and the same tire was flat again. Took to another tire place and they found a nail in my tire. How do not find a nail in a tire?
I had a good experience with having my vehicle serviced here for an oil change a few weeks ago. I bought a Groupon coupon which included a free tire rotation and break inspection. Overall, I walked out paying about $42 for uncovered costs which is understandable as the Groupon does not cover everything. I did have to reschedule when I initially went since they had to order a filter, but that was A-okay and I got my vehicle serviced the very next morning. I had a flat tire and needed to be towed. I called them and even though they were understaffed that day, the manager was able to confirm that they had an appropriate tire in stock and they would be able to work me in. So I arranged to tow to their shop. Clear communication about expectations and schedule (while I was waiting staff members told some others who had more complicated work that it would need to be completed another day).
