Interesting place with serene water, tufas and some bugs along the shore. Big parking lot. There’s a booth to put in ur entrance fee.

Went here when there was a fire in the mountains. Felt like I was in Mars with the red sky and tufas. Easy to get to, park, and walk. Lot of interesting signs but also a lot of signs bragging about how they won a lawsuit with the city of LA. The latter isn't a negative once you learn to laugh at it

Of all the places I’ve been, this one was definitely the most outlandish. Like being on another planet or in some sort of alien movie, both actually. The tufas are so interesting and really make for a beautiful and unique landscape. Watch where you step though, even during a drought in late August there was still shoe eating mud in places along the shore. Boots might have been a better choice. A must see! The east Sierra’s are awesome, and Mono Lake tufas are extremely unique. The moment I saw this place the first time, I felt like I had seen it before. Pink Floyd Wish You were Here album cover
