I was born and raised in Sri Lanka. During my childhood, I developed a love for medicine and patient care through volunteer work at the local hospital where my mother worked as a pharmacist. Dr. Ranasinghe has been great to work with and has a very caring and upbeat manner. She performed a long and difficult emergency fusion and discectomy on my spine to resolve intense chronic pain that developed into cauda equina syndrome (my legs had lost all function; she said it was the worst nerve compression she had seen). I'm healing well from the operation and should be able to return to normal activities, which I wasn't completely sure would happen. So her medical expertise gets five stars!! A huge waste of time to travel 16 miles to see her. I came 30 minutes early. She was already telling me there's nothing she can do for me while I was still filling out my paperwork. Entire appointment lasted less than 10 minutes. This should have been telehealth. She literally had her winter coat on the entire time.
