He dismissed my mother’s health concerns for one year and kept telling her she had asthma, prescribing her various inhalers until she demanded a CT scan. Instead of telling her in person or calling her to tell her she had a malignant tumor in her lungs, hematology/oncology was the first to call her and set up an appointment. She ended up passing away at the age of 60, a non-smoker, from lung cancer.
