I just visited Modia and it is recently renovated with an updated showroom. Lots of cool tech stuff and high end products, and it’s one of the few high end shops in Houston. Luckily the staff aren’t pushy and are actually knowledgeable- a rare find.

I inquired about an item they had listed for sale with $200 flat rate shipping. They took several days to calculate the shipping, which was actually $800+ dollars. This is a pretty significant discrepancy, and I really wanted to do business with this company, but seems a little insane to have such a poorly calculated shipping cost. Is it a bait and switch tactic or just complete negligence? Not sure. Peter the sales rep is friendly and helpful, despite the poor experience.
