THANK YOU MANNY!!! – I have not been happy with my hair for the last 6 months. I’ve used numerous stylists in both Austin and Houston and unless I wanted to spend a small (sometimes large) fortune I felt I was stuck with just a ho-hum style. My hair is both curly and dry making it a bit more of a challenge to cut and color. I am ALWAYS apprehensive when trying a new salon. Not this time! 5 STARS: my husband & i value the skills & ambience – in 2008 i spotted a fabulous haircut & color on a young woman at an event--she readily shared that her stylist was Long (Owner). i made an appointment asap and was not disappointed. i would not go anywhere else if you paid me. i convinced my husband to try the salon and he's a devotee too now. Thao (Owner) is fabulous and shares oversight with Long--they are genuinely committed to their clients' hair and contentment. Thanks you guys!! See you in the new year...

Awful hair salon – I scheduled an appointment with someone specific. Instead of getting that girl, they gave me someone else, which I didn't know until after the fact. I brought in tons of pictures of the hair color I wanted. They did not offer to remove the hair dye that I had in my hair. They just said my hair dye was too dark, so I couldn't get it as light as I wanted, so I agreed on a brown, but I made it clear that I didn't want it streaky. Will tell everyone – Very upset about my hair color. Went in on thursday it was to dark went back the next day to get it lighten, I asked if it wold be ok, the girl said it would be fine to put more highlights in it. When I got home I was very upset with all the broken hair. the owner say they would put treatments on it, but not refund my money on the color. I have a sister-n-law and sister, that did go there, but NO longer. Will continue to tell every one about my problem with the salon!

Heaven on Earth – I have been going to Modern Salon for nearly 10 years. I do not know what I would do without them. My hair looks better than it ever has. The difference between Long & his family and other salons is that you get treated like a person and not a number. He treats his clients like friends. No matter where I move to in the country I will always go back to them. They are the best!

Unique Experience – I came upon Modern Day; Long and his group through a group of friends that make appts the same day, so we have a girls days out kind of atmosphere. Had I gone into the salon not knowing how things operate there without my friends filling me in, I might not have been so receptive of the way things work there IDK....I LOVE this place, yes you are there for a few hours, but when I walk out of there, I feel fabulous!!! Oh So Slow and Oh So Arrogant – I've had my hair done a few times at this salon and I'm disappointed with the services (color and cut). Waiting and waiting and waiting... it's ridiculous. I feel like I'm at the ZOO. More people were waiting in their chairs while the employees running around not knowing who to serve. NOT A VERY ORGANIZED SALON!! The receptionist is very rude and the owner (LONG) is very ARROGANT who thinks too much of himself.

fabulous for hair and soul – Long, the owner, is amazing. he knows how to do anything you ask AND he really connects with his customers. he & his wife are a team--i was fortunate enough to enjoy both of their services. All of Long's staff are hand-picked and Long takes all of them when he attends conferences--each is trained firsthand in the latest trends and techniques. Long is very committed to his staff and creates such a positive environment for them which enhances every patron's experience. i have found my salon ;)

TICKED! – I made an appointment with a stylist my friend highly recommends. I have short hair and many stylist are not good at cutting a trendy short style. Her hair always looks GREAT. I drove 30 minutes in the pouring rain, arrived only to be told the stylist I made an appt. with had called off that day. They said they did not call to tell me because they had other stylist who can do my hair. I did not make an appointment with another stylist...that is rude.
