Terrible company to deal with, I wish we went with someone else. I’ve been cashing them since March to come and fix the dodgy job that they “completed” on my roof refurbishment. They kept on telling me “it will get done within the next 4 weeks” every time I chased it up. Good luck trying to get a response if you have a problem post restoration. I initially posted a 5 star review as i was very happy with the work and the guys worked very hard. However in the first heavy rain after restoration my roof started leaking (never had a leak before). I contacted Modern Newcastle a number of times, and eventually put in a warranty claim - still no response. I am so upset at being treated this way by a company who i thought were decent. I would not recommend using this company. Had a brand new roof installed which cost more than 30k. Roof has a leak and have been trying to get in contact with someone for over 2 weeks now by phone email and chat. All I am getting is we will take a message which no one responds to. They are happy to take your money but after sales is atrocious they don’t care. Good luck with alleged warranty.
Terrible experience! Paid a deposit for plantation shutters and they never came to measure. Newcastle office kept saying “Rob will call back” – never happened. Last week my call was diverted to Sydney, where the receptionist was rude and unhelpful. They’ve taken my hard-earned money with zero service. Avoid this company!
We want to share our experience to help prevent others from going through the same thing. Modern Group Newcastle took our deposit with no intention of doing the work. It was only after we paid that we were informed the company was going through a "restructure." We were never told this upfront. This is completely unacceptable. We believe this was done in bad faith, and we’re now out of pocket as a result.
