Purchased swingset and play zone from Modern Backyard and have been left hanging with $2000.00 credit card bill. Have contacted BBB who attempted mailings but everything was undeliverable. In contact with the ********************************** but received recent letter saying they too had their inquiries returned. So that's it? If you are considering using this retailer, I suggest you reconsider. Modern Backyard and Charlotte Fiberglass Pools are the same retailer. They have terrible customer service. I purchased furniture in July of 2018 and have had nothing but problems from them. Inaccurate information, never returning phone messages. Finally after fighting with them for months I was told I would get a refund on my credit card. That did not happen until I went to their location and said I wasn't leaving until this was resolved. I wish I'd read the reviews first. They are spot-on. I purchased a floor model hot tub 9/29 and still do not have all of the parts. Salesman Dirk will lie to your face with false promises. Delivery next week? nope. Missing parts by next week? nope. Manager Elizabeth provides the same lip service with no follow-through. The Dir of Ops Clay offered a handshake that my parts would be in next week. One week later, that handshake turned out to be just another lie. It's been 6 weeks since they cashed my check. Writing a review to get a call back more than anything else. My family purchased a hot tub from here back in September and after switch after switch, have yet to get it or ever hear from anyone regarding it's current delivery status. The check though, they had no problem cashing right away. After more research, looks like the BBB shows this business is closed and multiple people in my same position are filing lawsuits against them as they are also out thousands of dollars and haven't heard from anyone. Don't normally leave reviews on sites but my wife strongly encouraged it. I guess we could do it on Google , but that doesn't seem as appropriate as the Better Business Bureau the original review you can depend on. Not sure how these folks have the rating they have prior to our review but our experience was great. We would recommend Modern Backyard to our friends & neighbors.

I ordered outdoor furniture on February 17, 2018. The expected delivery time was 3 - 8 weeks. I received the completed order on July 26, 2018 (over 22 weeks). The manager of Modern Backyard continued to make promises about the delivery date that never came true. Delivery dates were set and I waited for hours (twice) and they never showed up and no one called to tell me.
