We bought a Maytag washer & dryer from Modern Appliance ~3 years ago that was definitely a lemon—and the washer has broken three times under completely normal use. It's under warranty, and the repairs are "free," but it's costing us hundreds of dollars at the laundromat each time this happens. More recently when it broke, we had very poor communication and a lot of confusion from Modern Appliance over what was going on with the repair. This is the worst local business to purchase appliances from. I purchased a $4700+ Speed Queen set from them and, within weeks, the dryer over heated and broke. Then the timing belt broke on the washer which then ripped out all the electrical while flailing about broken in the machine. Modern Appliance came back several times on service calls. When you look through all of the reviews There is a big variety of positives and a big variety of negatives. That should tell you something. You take your chances. I did not have the impression that they really needed or wanted my business.
