BEWARE ... I bought a Modcon Cruiser 16 Island caravan which had numerous defects which resulted in it not being of acceptable quality under the ACL and I was recently awarded a full refund of the purchase price by QCAT. The tare weight also turned out to be a few hundred kgs higher than recorded on the compliance plate. Beware! The Modcon Cruiser 16 Island caravan I bought had numerous defects such that I was recently awarded a full refund of the purchase price by the Qld Civil & Administrative Tribunal. The defects included marks on the cabinetry from the time of handover, welding cracks, fibreglass cracks, water leaks, non-adjustable independent trailing arm suspension resulting in the tyres and bushes wearing out in less than 12,000km due to misalignment and inability to do a toe and camber adjustment. I wouldn't recommend a Modcon RV as my Cruiser 16 has had so many problems, and spare parts are hard to find.

BUYER BEWARE! I bought a Modcon Cruiser 16 Island caravan and have recently been awarded a full refund of the purchase price by the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) because of all the issues I had with it. The Tribunal agreed the caravan breached the consumer guarantee of acceptable quality under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and that there was a major failure entitling me to a refund. We have had our ModCon C3 for nearly 5 years and absolutely love it! It still feels brand new and we have taken it absolutely everywhere! Fraser island, up to Darwin and back from Brisbane (including lots of dirt corrugated roads) and so many more places. We honestly can't fault it and encourage everyone to buy one. My husband is 6ft 4 and he finds it to be perfectly sized for him (especially the orientation of the bed). There is ample storage too. The only thing we've had to add is extra padding to the bunk bed for our son.... read more
