Came in to replace a nonfunctional gains-based bass knob. Owner warned the replacement might not work…fair. After install and a quick test, it worked. Paid. Drove off. Minutes later, all bass cut out, power gone, strong electrical burn smell, and smoke filled my trunk. Returned immediately. Asked what happened ? he said, “I don’t know, your unit’s no good.” No inspection, no diagnosis.
