About MOBILE FASTENERS, A short history. Mobile Fasteners began in 1964 as a small pop rivet distributorship operated from the home of H. F. "Buddy" Beaman. Buddy, a native of Galveston, was a young man who had graduated from Ball High School in 1955 and from Texas A & M University in 1960. In 1966, the company had grown, so he moved it to a rented building in South Houston. By 1970, he had built an 8, 000 square foot facility at 1509 Alabama Street.
