State fairgrounds are awesome any time of the year. Do other events besides the fair and have fun all year long. Ice Castles are there now.
It's great fun fact it's the second biggest Fair in the states open in August I recommend it to travelers
Merry market- lots of lotions, paintings, earrings, etc. More variety last year but still good for small business type christmas presents!
