Good psychologist. Helped me w my issues
I would NOT recommend him. I had 4 appreciate him. He stood me up for two of those. I don't mean he cancelled them; he just did not show up. BAD practice.
I went in diagnosed with PTSD from a car accident. My 4th visit following an ER visit for anxiety related heart palpitations, Dr. Gelber said he couldn't help me unless I go to codependent group therapy first. I asked if he realized he hadn't seen me for 2 months. He looked at his calendar and said. "That's not good." I reminded him that I was not able to schedule due to his vacation. He contradicts himself, interjects his own emotions, has no compassion and is unprofessional.
Mr. Gelber tried to get me to quit my job and go to an in-patient treatment facility. This was in the first few minutes of my second visit. I am not a drug addict or an alcoholic. He would not see me any longer unless I agreed to go to an in-patient facility. I believe he was getting kick-backs from the treatment homes in the area. An ED.D is not a real doctor. It is a doctorate of education, and these therapists act like they have Ph.D.s. It's fraud.
