This place was great! Both weld inspectors are very nice and very helpful. I used an XMT 304 with a wire set up for a 3g/4g FCAW-G and same machine for the 3g/4g SMAW and it worked very well. For the wire, I needed to get a-bit used to it but ended up running the test fine and both coupons bent as well as the SMAW. These guys were really awesome and super helpful in any questions or issues you might be having. I would absolutely recommend for anyone looking to test for your WABO. 5 stars
Recently took my D1.8 for my renewal here, the welder I started out using had a very serious malfunction while in the middle of welding. Switched to another booth to using a whip that didn't have the necessary insulators on the nozzle causing arc out at contact. Bit frustrating about the failure, I understand the test has a high failure rate and usually own up to mistakes but this ones not feeling like human error on my part. Definitely a good place to test. Very professional. Dave was helpful through the whole process of taking my 3G and 4G dualsheild. Will be going back to do more test.
Worth the 2 3/4 hr drive. Easy to deal with Dave is very helpful and I wouldn’t test anywhere els. Will be back and will recommend for the future!!
